The Renunciation Of The Divine
St John 3:16
Salvation transcends mere liberation from sin or the attainment of personal sanctity; it constitutes a complete emancipation from the self, culminating in unity with the Divine. My experiential understanding of salvation pertains to liberation from sin and personal sanctity; however, salvation signifies that the Spirit of God has connected me with God's essence, and I am exhilarated by something profoundly greater than myself, immersed in the surrender to God.
To assert that we are summoned to proclaim holiness or sanctification is to adopt a simplistic perspective. We are summoned to declare Jesus Christ. The salvation from sin and the sanctification of individuals are consequences of God's extraordinary abandonment.
Abandonment fails to engender awareness of its own exertion, since one's entire existence is consumed by the entity to which one relinquishes attachment. Exercise caution while discussing abandonment if you lack understanding, as true comprehension will only arise upon recognizing that John 3:16 signifies God's complete self-giving. In our abandonment, we surrender ourselves to God as God surrendered Himself for us, without reservation. The ramifications of abandonment do not factor into our perspective, as our existence is wholly devoted to Him.
1. Divine Affection - “For God so loved the world” • This verse underscores God's profound and selfless love for humankind.
2. Universal Offer – “the world” • Salvation is accessible to all individuals, irrespective of nationality, status, or background.
3. The Gift of Jesus - “that He gave His only begotten Son” • Jesus is God's supreme gift, exemplifying infinite generosity and grace.
4. Faith as the Prerequisite – “that whoever believes in Him” • Salvation is predicated on faith in Christ, rather than on human endeavor or worthiness.
5. Pledge of Eternal Life – “should not perish but have everlasting life” • Individuals who possess faith are rescued from annihilation and bestowed with eternal life beside God.
